Azielon National AI Challenge & Annual Showcase

The Azielon National AI Challenge gives middle and high school students the opportunity to move beyond learning AI concepts and use technology to solve meaningful real-world problems. Students develop a working project, demonstrate their technical understanding, present their solution, and defend their work before a panel of judges.

The event also serves as Azielon's Annual Showcase, where students completing our year-long programs present the projects and portfolios they have built throughout the year.

All deadlines fall after spring break, Easter, AP exams and Eid al-Adha, and before Memorial Day. Late submissions are not accepted.

Teams: each member registers separately and enters the same team name. A team of 3 is $147 ($117 with early-bird pricing). A team is confirmed only when all members are registered. Students enrolled in Azielon's academic-year programs participate at no extra cost.

1. Project title, division and category. Pick one of the six categories above.
2. Problem statement (up to 150 words). What problem are you solving, who has it, and how do you know it matters?
3. Planned solution (up to 200 words). What you will build and where AI is used in it.
4. Tools and tech stack. Languages, frameworks, AI models or APIs, and datasets you plan to use.
5. Team roster. Each member’s name, grade, school and role. All members must already be registered.

Proposals are not scored. You will get short feedback, and you can adjust your idea during the build period.

1. Problem statement (up to 200 words). The real-world problem, who is affected, and any evidence (research, surveys, interviews).
2. Solution write-up (up to 400 words). How your project works, how AI is used, what makes it original, and what you would build next.
3. Demo video (3–5 minutes). Show the working project, not just slides. Every team member should appear or speak. Upload to YouTube (unlisted) or Google Drive, and set it so anyone with the link can view it.
4. GitHub repository link. Public, or shared with the judges’ account. It must include all source code and a README with a project summary, setup and run instructions, dependencies, and screenshots. Commits should show the work was done during the competition.
5. Presentation slides (PDF, 10 slides max). Problem, solution, demo screenshots, technical approach, impact, and next steps.
6. Responsible AI statement (up to 150 words). Data sources, privacy, possible bias, limitations, and how you tested for safety.
7. AI tool disclosure. List any AI assistants (for example ChatGPT, Copilot or Claude) you used and what you used them for.
8. Live app link (optional). If your project is deployed, include the URL so judges can try it.

One submission per individual or team. Links must work until June 12, 2027. Late or incomplete submissions are not judged.

1. Tech check (Wed, June 9). A 15-minute run-through to test audio, screen sharing and your demo.
2. Live presentation (7 minutes). Present the problem, your solution and a live demo. Every team member presents.
3. Judges’ Q&A (5 minutes). Be ready to explain your code, your AI model or API choices, your data, and your limitations.
4. Annual Showcase & Awards Ceremony (Sat, June 12). Winners and special awards are announced.
